I am longing for Green

February 27, 2009

Yesterday was one of those days. You know, it was a cold rainy day in February. You know, the raw, cold, gloomy, rainy, lightning and thunder type of day. It poured. I suppose I could be happy that it wasn’t snow. We had that on Saturday. That was the white out kind of snow. Ugh. I am combining my Lightroom catalogs and trying to be more organized and I came across this photo and even though it was taken after a summer rain, the leaves are a gorgeous green and full of life. I am looking forward to the day I can look out my kitchen window and see these leaves again. Did I mention that I was watching the rain from my dentist’s chair? Did I mention that I have to have a tooth pulled and replace it with an implant, along with a new found cavity. Note to self-do not put off going to the dentist for that long again.

Ethan-again

February 23, 2009

What a serious face for a little boy. He is really one of the most photogenic little boys I know. His mom says he flirted with all the photographers when he was a baby. Work that camera Ethan.

A Beautiful Red

February 11, 2009

Once again, this is a photo from my daughters college campus. It was an overcast day and one of those first really cold days. When I started this blog, one of my friends said, oh is it going to be called “Snap Happy Pugs?” I seem to be known as that woman who is obsessed with her pug. I do love my pug but I have only posted one little photo of him on this blog. I have set out prove that friend wrong. Doing so has forced me to really look at the photos I have taken in the past. That friend was right. I took A LOT of dog photos. The dogs actually refuse to look at me when I have the camera in my hand. HA! So I am slowly going through my Lightroom collections on two computers to find photos that are not pugs!

Photo Shoot

February 2, 2009

On first day of the Me Ra Workshop, a friend of mine sent me a text that his son had arrived bright and early that Saturday morning. When I learned that he was going to become a Dad, I had asked if I could come and take photos once everything settled down. Jaxson arrived mid November and it wasn’t until this past weekend that we could coordinate all our schedules. As a mom of three grown children, I was so excited to see this little one and get some photos of Mom and Dad as well. You know I was thinking I was such a hot shot until I got home and realized that some how my Auto WB had been switched to FLASH-ACK! BUT because I shoot RAW and use Lightroom, I was able to save every photo! Yeah ME!

Mom and Dad were great and little Jaxson-oooh they are going to have their hands full. We tried to get a few shots of Jaxson on his tummy and he was having none of that. We laid him down and those arms and legs started moving and he was holding that head of his right up. Jaxson is one strong little baby!

First up-A Father and his son-how sweet is this photo?

Next- A Mother giving her son that warm soft place to lay his head-my heart just about melted when I saw this photo

Last but not least-Dad’s big hands surrounding that very tiny little head
